Worm Hunt - Oct 16, 2020
The children decided that they would like to explore the garden for mini-beasts. They started by digging in the wet soil and soon found some wiggly worms. I then told the children about worms habitats and they thought that they might like to be under the logs as it was wet, cold and dark under there. As soon as we lifted them up, the children were delighted to find they had found the perfect place for worms, woodlice, centipedes and slugs. They enjoyed picking them up, collecting them and looking closely at their detail. We talked about how it is important not to poke, squeeze or press them and how we must put them back where we got them.
