Go, do not be afraid and serve

A visit from the Police - May 10, 2022

As part our Understanding the Word topic ‘What do I want to be when I grow up?’, one of our lovely Nursery children’s dad volunteered to come into school and share a little bit about what life is like as a Police Officer and what his job entails.

The children loved listening to his different responsibilities and were shocked at how many different roles there are in the Police force.

In order to get the full experience, the officers allowed the children to handle the different equipment they carry such as a radio and hand cuffs, explore their police van – testing both the alarm and lights- and even practise shooting water at a target.

We are all very grateful to the 2 officers who gave up their time to come into school and share their experience as a Police officer. They definitely inspired lots of our children to become Police Officers when they are older.
