Today we looked at scaling numbers and how we can use known facts to support us in using four operations with decimals. To understand this fully we worked in pairs, using place value counters and tens frames we completed various questions involving decimals to show each calculation and gain a visual representation. Throughout the lesson we focused also on using our known facts such as how 8 + 6 can relates to 0.8 + 0.6.
