Go, do not be afraid and serve

Art Week - Oct 22, 2020

This week has been Art Week.  The children have been learning about texture and discussing how objects feel. They have used language like smooth, rough, hard, soft and shiny.  They went on a walk around the outside to feel how things in the yard felt.

The children then felt and manipulated clay to make a hedgehog.  Children thought that the clay felt like ice cream.  That it was sticky and hard.  Someone thought that the clay felt like their mam’s face.  The children rolled the clay into a ball, added two eyes, and then used matchsticks to add the prickles on top.

Children also made autumn suncatchers.  They used kitchen scourers to add paint to the plate, then added leaves to make beautiful decorations.

They have had a wonderful time.
