Historical Primary Sources – Anglo-Saxons - May 19, 2021

Today in our History lesson, Year 3/4 looked at historic primary sources to learn about the qualities of Anglo-Saxons . They looked at Anglo-Saxon artefacts discovered in 1890. They learned how to interpret evidence from the artefacts. After that they reconstructed a drawing of what they thought an Anglo-Saxon who owned the items would look like. Since the artefacts included jewellery, glass beads, metal knife blades and pottery necklaces; they were able to interpret a wealthy Anglo-Saxon lady who may have lived on a farm. Here are some of their interpretations.
