In PE we have started a new unit of Badminton, for this we have an external coach coming into school to help us develop skills in this sport. For our first lesson we focused on various ways to hold the racket, including the ‘v hold’ and ‘back hand hold’. To start us off, we used a fluff ball and were challenged to count how many bounces we could do, following on from this we then used a success ball and finally a shuttlecock. Once we became confident in this, we moved onto learning how to serve to start a game of badminton, this will be the start of next weeks lesson, which we are already looking forward to!
