The children have really enjoyed our design and technology unit, What is a healthy sandwich?
They were told their brief, ‘design and make a healthy sandwich’ and had to decide what they would need to do this. We explored healthy eating, looking at the food groups and what a healthy diet should look like. The children then tried various breads and fillings and decided which they wanted to use. Once they had decided, they made their plan, thinking about which bread to use, filling and how they wanted to cut it. The children had a great time making their sandwiches and then enjoyed eating them in the sunshine, along with some other tasty foods.
