Investigating How Light Travels - Nov 23, 2020

To start our Science enquiry question of ‘How do we see?’ in today’s lesson we explored and investigated how light travels. To start the lesson, we looked at scientific vocabulary used linked to light such as opaque, luminous, transmit, absorb and reflect to gain an understanding as to what these and other key words meant. We then set up an investigation to find out how light travels. Using square pieces of card, we cut a whole in to the centre of two of the pieces of cards and drew a target on the final piece. Working in pairs we lined up the card, using playdough to create a stand, then shone a torch through the holes and hit the target, proving that light travels in straight lines.
