Today, the children of Year 6 visited SafetyWorks, a multi-agency interactive safety centre serving the community of Tyne and Wear. We took part in a range of learning experiences, participating safely in realistic situations illustrating every day hazards and how to prevent them. This included, Northumbria Police, Gas Network, Nexus who run the Metro system and the Local Authority Road Safety team. During the visit we found out about various different aspects of safety including: road safety, gas safety and how to call for help in an emergency. The visit as a huge success and definitely one we will talk about for a long time to come!
