Scaling Maps - May 27, 2021
As part of our whole school ‘Local Explorers Week’, we have been focusing on the Quayside. In this lesson we explored a current map of the Quayside, identifying places of interest, we then compared this map with one from 1950 and again with a 1890’s map. We then discussed the use of a map on a scale, what it tells us and the types of scales maps use. Using this knowledge we then selected a section of a recent map of the quayside and created our own scaled map.
