Testing for strength - Apr 28, 2021
Today, as part of our Design Technology lessons, we looked at how would would make a chair for baby Moses. We knew that we would have to test out some different shapes for the legs so that we knew they would be strong. We tested a triangular prism, cylinder and a cuboid. We found that the cylinder was the strongest. We then worked with a partner to test out different sizes so made three different cylinders. After balancing different books on the top, we discovered that the cylinders that were short and wide were the strongest. Tomorrow, we will be making the chair and evaluating our design.
