Number bonds to 5 - Mar 15, 2022
This week in Maths, we are learning how to partition numbers to 10.
Yesterday we used Numicon to explore the different ways of representing the number 5. The children were confident working with Numicon and independently used the trail and error approach to find different ways of making 5. Initially the children were able to find 2 ways of partitioning 5 (1+4 and 2+3) however, one of the children noticed that if we swapped the digits around the answer would still be 5. As a class we then challenged ourselves to see how many number bonds we could find.
