Maya Workshop - Nov 24, 2021
This afternoon, Vanessa came in and led a Maya workshop. We began by making a timeline and looking at different periods and placing the Maya Civilisation in the correct place. After learning more about the Maya, we completed a carousel of activities: a trade game, where we traded cacao beans and learned about inequality; compared a model of an affluent home to our homes; ground maize on a stone; identified gods from descriptions; and investigated different objects and artefacts trying to identify their uses.
