Global Cotton Trade Supply - Jan 17, 2022
In Geography, we focussed on the global chain supply of cotton. We found out about the various stages of global supply: primary, secondary and tertiary, along with what each stage involves. To start our discussion on the global cotton trade supply, we explored various items of clothing which contained cotton. In groups, we recorded the percentage of cotton used in the clothing, along with the country the item was made. Using this information we thought about the various stages the cotton would have to go through and the countries this may take place in. Following this, we were given a range of statements linked to various stages of the trade supply and created a key to show if they were primary, secondary or tertiary. To end the lesson, we then located the countries we had discussed in the lesson, and labelled them on a world map and the stage they were associated with.
