Flotsam - Apr 1, 2021
In Literacy Year 3/4 have been using the wonderful wordless picture book ‘Flotsam’ to inspire their writing. They have worked very hard to develop well punctuated sentences. They have practised writing compound sentences and using fronted adverbials to begin their sentences. The picture book filled their imaginations with all sorts of wonderful sea themed ideas, so this week they were able to research and create a non-chronological report about something they were interested in with links to the ocean. They created a glossary, researched lots of facts, and made links to Flotsam by including links to pollution and the effects it has on our oceans. Here are some of their double page spreads. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as they enjoyed writing them.
