Ash Wednesday - Mar 2, 2022
Today is Ash Wednesday and Key Stage 1 took part in a special Liturgy to signify the start of Lent. We found out about why we celebrate Shrove Tuesday to use up all of the rich ingredients such as eggs and flour. Following this, we received some special ashes which had been blessed by Father Paul in church. We listened to some quiet, peaceful music while the ashes were put into a cross shape on each of our heads. The children were very sensible and respectful when they were receiving the ashes.
