Times Tables Rock Stars

When it comes to times tables, speed and accuracy are important – the more facts a child remembers, the easier it is for them to do harder calculations.   Times Table Rock Stars is a fun and challenging programme designed to help pupils master their times tables.  It is recommended that children do several short bursts of times table practice per week to build up their speed and accuracy.

Each child in Year 1 – 6 has their own username and password.  Pupils can also access the Times Table Rock Stars app, which can be downloaded to an Android or Apple device.  School has subscribed to the website and the app, therefore there is no cost to families.

Lexia

Children following The Read Write Inc Program in school use Lexia Core5 Reading which is a fun computer-based program.  Children complete activities to develop reading skills in six areas: phonological awareness, phonics, structural analysis, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.

Reading Plus

When children have completed The Read Write Inc program they move onto using Reading Plus which helps them develop the skills they need to be proficient readers and lifelong learners.  Regular Reading Plus practice helps reading become easier, comprehension skills increase, and meaningful connections between reading and learning are made.

Tapestry

As a school we have chosen to use an online resource, Tapestry, to record your child’s learning in Nursery and Reception. Tapestry can be accessed on a computer, laptop, and any Apple or Android device such as a tablet or smartphone. School can upload photos, videos and observations of your child, throughout the day which will then be available for you to view.  As soon as your child’s learning journal has been updated you will receive an email alerting you that something new has been added and you can log on and view what your child has been up to.

Seesaw

For children in Years 1 - 6, Seesaw is used rather than Tapestry.  Each pupil has a unique account to use and access Seesaw.  Pupils can post to their journal, respond to activities, and view class announcements.  Homework will be set by class teachers and pupils can upload their work or complete it directly via the app.
