Year 1/2

How do you like your toast?

On Friday, we enjoyed trying lots of different toppings and cutting our toast in different ways to help us decide how we like our toast!

World Book Day

We had a fantastic day celebrating World Book Day in Year 1/2 with a cosy reading session, making book marks and designing a book cover- all whilst dressed in our cosy, comfy pyjamas!

World Book Day - Library Story Session

Today, as part of World Book Day celebrations, we visited Leam Lane Library. We took part in a story telling session and we even had to get involved with making the noises that appeared in the story. Some of us had noise cards and instruments. We had great fun and we're looking forward to sharing more stories this week.

Visit to Northumberland College Zoo

As part of our Science topic 'Animals including Humans', we visited Northumberland College Zoo. We spent the day learning about lots of different animals. We went on a wallaby walkabout, watched meerkats and lemurs have their lunch, and saw lots of other animals including alpacas, monkeys, a porpucine, tortoises, fish and birds. We even got up close with reptiles and were able to touch some of them. We had a fantastic day!

Children's Mental Health Week

On Dress to Impress day during Mental Health week, we had a session all about keeping safe online. Boo the rabbit needed our help so he learn what to do to  stay safe when using different devices. We learnt the rules for being cyber smart and there was even one for us to teach to our grown-ups!
