Go, do not be afraid and serve

We Will Remember - Nov 11, 2021

This week we have been thinking about World War I and what life would have been like for the soldiers in the war. We looked at photographs of the trenches in France. We talked about what we could see, what we might have been able to hear and what we might be able to smell. We worked in groups and acted as though we were the soldiers in the trenches. We then had to pretend we were soldiers and talk about how we were feeling. One person said that their eyes hurt because they were so tired. Another person said that they were cold as it had been snowing and the only thing they had to keep them warm was their coat.

We also watched a Remembrance liturgy which was led by Year 6. We listened carefully to the words.

We have also been making our own poppies and we have drawn pictures of ways that we can remember.
